Click on the Page Info button to edit the page's details. This will open a popup window which allows you to change important information that is used by Search Engines and for the navigation of the website.
Name - This gives you the ability to give the page a user-friendly name that will be seen in the browser address bar. If you leave it blank then the page number will appear as the name.
Class - This allows you to call a Stylesheet class to govern the page. The default class is 'page' - Please contact the Site Administrator before changing the class.
Title - The title of the page appears in the browser Title Bar and should describe what the page is about. E.g. Loughborough's Carnival. The title also becomes the link text in the website's navigation system.
Hide from Navigation - Default selection is No, which means the page will be automatically inserted into the site navigation system. If you want to hide this page from the site navigation system then select Yes.
NB If you hide a page from the navigation system your visitors will not be able to find it unless you make a link to it by inserting a hyperlink within the page content.
Hide from Feeds - Default selection is No, which means that the page will automatically be inserted into the feed structure of the site. For example, some sites provide a Latest News feature where updated pages are automatically feed through to it. If you don't want the page to appear in such feed systems then select Yes.
Thumbnail Image = A thumbnail is a small picture. You can insert a thumbnail to be associated with this page and it will appear as the link to the page in the content area of the Parent Page. To insert a prepared picture, click on the Browse button, which will give you access to your computer's files. Now locate your picture and click the Open button.
Thumbnail images have a suggested size of 50 pixels wide by 50 pixels high but can be changed to suite the situation. Leaving the resize option selected will cause any pictures that are bigger than the suggested size to be resized and resampled when they are uploaded. Pictures that are smaller than the suggested size will not be affected.
NB Please see Appendix 1 for some suggestions on the size & format of pictures.
Style - If your Site Administrator has set up different page styles for you to use they will appear here ready for you to select. If the style box is not visible then none have been set up. Please contact the Site Administrator to request a style.
Description = Enter a brief description of this web page. Make it short, attractive and as descriptive as possible. Search Engines will use this information when they list this page in their databases.
Show Description = Default selection is No! Click Yes if you want the description to appear under the page title on the parent page. This is a good way of telling your visitors what the page is about.
Import Archive = This feature can be used to import a zip file that contains page content. For example, you can create a zip file with a collection of documents that you want to insert into the page and then upload it here. When you click the Save button the documents will be automatically inserted into the page content.
To insert a prepared zip file, click on the Browse button, which will give you access to your computer's files. Now locate your zip file and click the Open button.
Click the Save button to save the changes you have made. Or click the Cancel button to cancel it.
